    Neither water nor food is available in the park, but water and soft drinks are available for purchase at the Tribal Park Visitor Center/Museum. Bring plenty of drinking water, lunch for the all day trip, insect repellant, sun screen, a hat and sturdy hiking shoes. Have a full tank of gasoline. No dogs are allowed.

    Professional photography is not allowed.

    Please inform the tour guide of serious health problems. Visitors should have their own insurance. The meeting point for tours is at the Tribal Park Visitor Center at Junction of highways 160/491, 20 miles south of Cortez, Colorado. The Ute Mountain Tribal Park may cancel tours due to weather.

We are delighted to offer the first day of this PD for free to current members of the Colorado Council for the Social Studies. If you are not currently a member, you can attend and receive one year of membership for a total of $25. June 6th will be workshops at Fort Lewis College in Durango. 

June 7th is an optional full day of  a Geo Inquiry experience at the Ute Mountain Tribal Park near Durango. The first 25 members to register can enjoy this day for only $20.00 - space is limited. 

Participants for day 2 must be physically able to hike 4 miles and climb ladders. Please bring your own water, lunch, and sunscreen with you and be prepared for hiking.
