Paid Professional Development Opportunity for Teaching Sustainability Using GIS Tools

  • 01 Jun 2022

The University of Northern Colorado is offering a paid professional development opportunity to help you teach sustainability with engaging, interactive maps and field tools.  This year-long institute focuses on a key 21st Century challenge – sustainability.  If you are a middle or high school social science or natural science teacher in Colorado who is looking to master geographic inquiries in sustainability using interactive, flexible web-based GIST, this is the PD for you!

Participants will receive $720 for completing the yearlong institute and be able to earn up to four graduate credits through UNC ($65 per credit).  Phase one will begin on 1 June 2022 as an online workshop.  Phases two and three will continue throughout the 2022-23 academic year.

In order to learn more, please go to the institute website at UNC.  Participation is limited to 20 teachers.  In order to apply, please use the link on the website.

Please reply with any questions.   I along with 2 wonderful colleagues (a university professor and a high school teacher) will be the institute’s instructors.
