A classroom is the intersection of multiple worlds converging into one dynamic, a community. The stories, experiences, and encounters we bring with us each day influence our perspective. In order to understand our current reality or plan for the future, we must look back at our past. The 2017 Colorado Council for the Social Studies conference is partnering with the History Colorado Museum to provide participants with an in depth examination of the past to understand the current landscape throughout the state, nation and world. Scholars of history, geography, economics, and civics will be presented with an opportunity to examine artifacts, tour exhibits, and learn from one another. The bridges that are built on this day have the potential to impact social studies classrooms and students throughout the state and beyond.
